Resources for Parents at JCPL

The distinct needs and characteristics of childhood make it essential that the library direct specific services toward our youngest citizens. The JCPL Children's Department strives to provide the highest quality materials, programs and customer service possible. The Children's Department desk is staffed during all library hours to assist children and adults in using the library. Great care is taken to create a library environment that is both comfortable and safe for families to learn and explore.

To that end, it is library policy that children age 10 and under be directly supervised at all times by a responsible adult or caregiver who is at least 16 years old. The safety of children is one of our chief concerns. By working together we can ensure that families create a lifetime of wonderful library memories.

Holds Request Form

The JCPL Children's Department would be happy to pull and hold books for you to pick up in the library. We ask that you give at least 5 days notice when using this online form. If you don't have that much time, give us a call and we'll see if we can help via the telephone. The books will be pulled as quickly as possible and we will send an e-mail to let you know when they are ready for pick up.
