Winter Dance with Encore of Lexington

Dance away your winter blues to the energizing, soul-moving sounds of Encore of Lexington. Playing a mix of Motown classics, funk, and modern hits, Encore takes pride in keeping their audiences on the dance floor. This event is geared toward adults and teens, but all are welcome.

Lexington Children’s Theatre: Anansi the Spider

Enjoy the Lexington Children’s Theatre’s performance of the classic African folktale Anansi the Spider. This performance is recommended for grades K-3 and their caregivers.

African American Genealogy

Tracing African American family histories often presents unique research challenges. This session provides an overview of the methods and resources essential for making progress, while using as examples some recently documented portions of nineteenth-century Kentucky Black lives.
