Inclement Weather Closings
If the library administration believes driving conditions pose a danger to our customers and our staff, we’ll consider closing early, opening late, or remaining closed entirely.
When possible, we will advertise a change in hours on channel WLEX-18, on WKYT-TV, and on our website.

The library observes the following holidays by closing:

- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Presidents’ Day
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
Staff Training Closings
In addition to the holidays above, the library closes around twice a year for staff training. We’ll post these closings on the library premises, on the website, and on the events calendar several days beforehand.
