The Jessamine County Public Library (www.jesspublib.org) is located at 600 S. Main St, Nicholasville, KY.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

To provide the best possible experience on our website, we need to collect and process certain information. 

You may choose to submit your name and contact information to register for library cards, request materials, participate in programs, receive personal responses to questions, be added to email lists, and more.

As stated in our Confidentiality Policy, the Library may only provide confidential information:

a. To an agency or individual duly authorized by the Library and acting on behalf of the Library within the scope of their duties.

b. To an agency or individual of any local, state, or federal government, pursuant to a process, subpoena, or court order authorized pursuant to a federal, state, or local law relating to civil, criminal, administrative, or legislative investigative power.

Cookies

We use cookies (small data files transferred onto computers or devices by sites) for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on our site. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

Analytics

When you visit our site, we will store:

  • The website from which you visited us
  • The parts of our site you visit
  • The date and duration of your visit
  • Your anonymized IP address

We process this usage data in Matomo Analytics for statistical purposes, to improve our site, and to recognize and stop any misuse.

The Library’s website includes selected links to outside websites. Those sites may have different terms and policies that affect your privacy.  Because some of these sites may collect and share customers’ personally identifiable information, it is incumbent upon you to be familiar with their terms and conditions.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, podcasts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How Long the Library Retains Your Data

The Library deletes information you submit on website forms after 60 days.

We delete Matomo analytics raw data after 744 days.

Information Security

In accordance with KRS 61.931-934, the Jessamine County Public Library will take precautions to ensure that personal information kept by the Library for any purpose is safeguarded from unauthorized access. For more information, see the Information Security Policy.

Relevanssi Premium WordPress Plugin

Relevanssi Premium improves searching on the Library’s website.

What personal data Relevanssi Premium collects and why they collect it

All searches performed using the internal site search are logged in the database, including the following information:

  • The search query
  • The number of hits found
  • User ID for users who are logged into the website
  • Date and time

How long Relevanssi Premium retains your data

The search logs are stored for 30 days before they are automatically removed.
