With a JCPL library card, you can:
- Check out print books, DVDs, Books on CD, items from our Library of Things, etc.
- Use our public computers
- Use our Creative Space and Recording Studio
- Check out items from our self-service JCPL+ Wilmore location
- Access our eLibrary and other online resources
- And much more!
Jessamine County Residents
Library cards are free to all who live in Jessamine County. To apply, stop by the Customer Service Desk with a photo ID and proof of current address.
If you are under 18, please stop by the library in person with a parent or guardian.
Jessamine County Employees
Library cards are free to all who work in Jessamine County. We invite you to visit the library in person to apply for a library card.
- A photo ID and proof of current address
- Proof of employment, such as a pay stub.
Library cards are also free to all who can present proof of ID along with a library card from any of the following counties: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford.

Apply for a JCPL eLibrary Card
If you’re 18 years old or older and live in Jessamine County, you can apply online for a JCPL eLibrary card. This card gives you immediate access to all our online resources, including eBooks, streaming movies, and library databases.
Once you have read and agreed to the library card agreement and submitted your application, you will receive an email with your library card number. If you would like full access to our physical resources, please visit us in person any time.
