Get Ready to Vote in the Midterms

With the Nov. 3 general election quickly approaching, now is the time to make your voting plan.

Read on for information on voting deadlines and dates.

Register to Vote

You can register to vote or update your current registration online.

The deadline to register for the Nov. 5 general election is Oct. 5, 2026, no later than 4 pm local time.

Absentee Ballots

Registered voters may request a mail-in absentee ballot online beginning Sept. 19, 2026. The deadline to apply is Oct. 20, 2026.

Mail-in ballots are due to the County Clerk by Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026 at 6 pm local time. If you choose to mail your ballot, be sure to do it as soon as you receive it.

You may also use the drop box inside the Jessamine County Courthouse.

Civil Rights Restoration

If you have been convicted of a non-violent felony in Kentucky and have served your time, your voting rights may have been restored by a 2019 executive order.

Visit the Civil Rights Restored website to learn more and to check your status. If your rights have been restored, you will still need to register to vote.

In-Person Absentee Voting Dates

Excused, in-person absentee voting for qualified voters will take place Oct. 21-23 and Oct. 26-28.

In-person, no excuse absentee voting will take place Oct. 29-31.
