Policy
The Jessamine County Public Library (JCPL) does not act in place of or in the absence of a parent/guardian or caregiver. The parent/guardian or caregiver is responsible for abiding by the regulations outlined below.
Regulations
1. Responsibility for the safety and behavior of all children using the Library rests with theparent/guardian or caregiver, not with the Library staff.
2. Children ten (10) years of age and younger shall, at all times, be attended and directly supervised by a parent/guardian or caregiver ages fourteen (14) or older.
3. Children of any age requiring supervision must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or caregiver at all times.
4. Library staff are authorized to take appropriate action toward anyone failing to comply with this policy and its regulations, including, but not limited to, contacting the parent/guardian or caregiver or calling the police.
5. Failure to comply with the Unattended Children Policy may result in limited or suspended library privileges.
