Claudia Love advises all writers to "stay open. All around you are prompts. There are prompts in the trees and in the clouds and in your mother's face. So, don't look at prompts as only being, you know, words on paper or something that you get at a workshop, something in the books. There are prompts all around you. Take advantage and keep writing."
